Introduction:
 
Andrea and Katie are outside playing.  They see something moving in the grass.  They go over and see a hurt bat.  Andrea wants to help it, but Katie is afraid of it.  Andrea tells Katie that bats do not hurt people.  She tells her that bats help the environment.  The girls decide to help the bat, but in order to do so, they must learn all they can about bats.  Help Andrea and Katie learn bat facts.

Task:
 
This webquest will allow you to explore the internet and find facts about bats.  Use the resources provided to find the answers to the questions about bats.  Have fun!!!!!

Process:

  1. Bats are found all over the world.  Find out what kinds of bats are in the United States.
  2. All living things need food.  Find out what bats eat.
  3. Bats help our world. List some ways bats help our environment.
  4. Bats have unique characteristics.  Find out what they are and list them.
  5. Bats care for their babies.  Find out how a mother bat cares for her babies until they are ready to make it on their own.http://members.aol.com/bats4kids/index.htm

You will be completing the diagram of the bat that is in step 6 of the Process.  Be sure to get the teacher to print the Label Me Activity for you so you can complete this part of the task.  Next you will write a report on one of the bats you learned about.  Use the information you learned on bats to help you do the report.  Turn the diagram of the bat and your report into the teacher along with your other notes when you are finished.
